Silica sand, also known as industrial sand or quartz sand, is a high-purity granular material composed primarily of silicon dioxide (SiO₂). To be classified as silica sand, it must typically contain at least 95% silica and less than 0.6% iron oxide; regular sand often contains only around 80% silica and higher levels of impurities like clay and potassium.
